It would hardly be overstated to suggest that one's years of interest in the sport could be gauged by how many editions of the book one owned. An acclaimed pilot and instructor, Piggott presents both the fundamentals and the complexities of motorless flight in a manner that engages while instructing both the novice and the experienced glider pilot. Replete with excellent illustrations (I counted 120) that complement the clear concise text the work is comprehensive in its scope while organized in focused bite-sized chapters. It can be read cover to cover or by topic of interest with no loss in continuity. Compact but chock-full with a beautiful book cover to boot - an exceptional book, highly recommended.
