The author attempts to isolate these factors affecting the bullet's flight with the tools common to the early 20th century experimenter. The section on plank-shooting with the compression of air at the muzzle and how this compression affects results on the target is innovative in approach for this time-period. The book shows the reasons for the tests, the actual performance of the tests and the author's interpretation of the tests. The book is a worth-while undertaking for the dedicated amateur ballistics researcher and theoritician.
