I agree with the earlier reviewer; the photos are magical re-takes on the banality of LA. They are worth the price of the book on their own. However, the essay also merits careful reading. Corboz takes traditional complaints about American cities to task. His views are neither conservative nor radical, they are merely thought-provoking, which is afterall the aim of a well-done essay.
